The tools she already pays for, joined up so the same figures are not typed at both ends. The website is the next session.
The hero of this one
Accountant and registered Tax Agent
She runs the accounting for small businesses that do not need a full-time bookkeeper: a few hours a month, or a few hours a week, whichever the business actually needs. Bookkeeping, payroll, BAS and GST, reconciliation, and the year-end accounts.
Adrienn’s wish · Her Xero account, authorised and talking to her own machine, so the figures are not retyped at the other end.
Adrienn’s wish · Signed documents walk themselves out of the Dropbox inbox into the right client folder, instead of being carried across by hand.
Adrienn’s wish · Named in the session and carried over: the file mover took the day, so the website goes back in the lamp for the next sitting, 1 September.
Xero refused for the best part of an hour. The cause was scope: the app was requesting permissions the subscription does not include. Trimming the list fixed it at once, and nothing in the error message said so.
When it came back with six wrong assumptions, the fix was a numbered reply with one line against each, rather than explaining the whole job again from the top.
The payroll run was deliberately not automated. First it emails whenever it does anything; the automation comes after that has been watched working for a month.
One went out live. Delete it at the source and generate another straight away, which takes a minute. Do not treat that as the end of it: the stream went out to people who can pause and screenshot, so assume somebody could have taken it and check afterwards what it was used for.
The ATO wants a registered digital service provider and a security review, and its portal renders in a way a browser extension cannot read. The session ended that thread rather than forcing it.
Every line opens the session at that moment.
Nothing written up yet. The session is on the channel; the notes are not.
Per wish
Rebuilt from the room audio: the prompts were typed on Adrienn Volcz’s screen and never recorded, but the show works by me saying them out loud. Each one says how it was recovered.
29 more from this session are about Adrienn Volcz’s own business and stay off the page.
3:09:00 Agent 2 dictated on the tape
/plugin reload
Came back: They proceeded to run the MWK command afterward, implying the plugin reload completed enough to continue.

55:00 Agent 1 dictated on the tape
Right now I would just like to test if it's possible. I don't want to send an email yet, I just want to have the capability to send an email. This was option number three, so you don't have to check the other options.
Came back: The agent later produced a long implementation plan for approval.
1:00:00 Agent 1 dictated on the tape
Give me a few bullet points on what your plan is before I approve it.
Came back: They reviewed the shortened plan enough to proceed, but the transcript does not report its contents.
1:02:00 Agent 1 dictated on the tape
Go ahead.
Came back: The agent switched back to execution mode and began writing code.
1:20:00 Agent 1 paraphrased from the tape
Bad robot. Huge mistake. You did it wrongly again. This can be an individual client too, not just a company. How can we decide from the name whether it is an individual client or a company? Please fix or clarify this.
The reply was on the screen and the tape doesn’t say.
1:43:00 Agent 1 dictated on the tape
Let's do it.
Came back: The agent's accounting discussion mentioned that STP depends on the client and not much on the individual.
1:46:00 Agent 1 inferred from the tape
I will check back when it's finished.
The reply was on the screen and the tape doesn’t say.

/plugin reload
Came back: The plugins were updated.
3:08:00 Agent 1 dictated on the tape
/mwk save
Came back: It saved the project by reviewing what had been done and sending it to GitHub. Later the host indicated it was ready and could be closed.
7 more. They are free; supporting just hides this box.
Nothing was typed for this one in the session: it is still ahead. Where it stands.

What the show gives you
The tools the show runs on started as wishes of its own, and every one is granted in public: a repo you can take, use and read.

“Show notes that write themselves”
Show notes out of the guest's own machine, after the show. Reviewed by them, sent only if they say yes.
A wish of the show’s own
Best practices checked on demand, ten domains, zero dependencies. It reports what it finds and never edits anything.
Who’s next?
A real problem, three to four hours, your own computer. No experience and no camera skills needed.
